The Joyful Doula – Meet Your Doula
Hi, my name is Amanda and I am the Joyful Doula! 🙂
I am passionate about birth and taking care of moms, babies and growing families. I carry that joy with me to every birth and every visit. It is a privilege and an honor to be a part of your birth story. I am looking forward to meeting you and serving you and your loved ones.
A little about me:
I am the mother of 5 wonderful kids, I had my births, made my choices and I am very happy with them. Now, I support my clients’ births in the setting and location they choose and in the choices they make during their labor and delivery. Your birth is uniquely yours. I have deep respect for you, your decisions and your birth journey.
I approach Birth Doula work like a best friend who is affirming, attentive and attuned to your needs during Labor and Delivery. I support your decisions, choices and preferences. My goal is for you to feel supported, loved, nurtured, seen and heard. Helping you to be well informed, and have a deep understanding of the process of birth so that you can walk through that process with confidence, knowing that you were made for this! It is a joy to watch many expectant parents move from apprehensive and somewhat fearful to empowered and confident as their birth approaches. My ‘Super Power’ (as my kids would say) is helping labor to progress, I have many techniques and positions that I can suggest during labor to speed things up a bit (who wouldn’t like some time and effort shaved off of their labor?!)
I became a Certified Birth Doula through GEM in 2021. I have since obtained my NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) Certification, CPR Certified for Adults, Children and Infants, First Aid and AED Certified and I have completed a Breech Birth Course.
Spring of 2007 I graduated from CLST with a BA in Theology.
I have since worked in University Admissions, Adult Education, Owner of online retail stores, Product development and Sales as well as Social Media Marketing, Blogging, Ghostwriting and Insurance.
In my free time I like to read, eat dark chocolate, Rosterie Coffee, go to parks with my kids and write (I am currently writing a Childbirth Course).

What clients are saying:
I provide support not only for you but also your Partner if you choose to have one at your birth. This could be your spouse, family member or a friend.
The support of a loved one during birth is amazing. If, for whatever reason you choose not to have a Partner, (or your Partner is not able to be present) I can step into that role. You are going to have a wonderful birth!
